UNC Charlotte awarded competitive Multidisciplinary Research Initiative
grant in High Energy Lasers (HEL-MRI)
UNC Charlotte has been awarded a competitive Multidisciplinary Research Initiative grant in High Energy Lasers (HEL-MRI) from AFOSR/JTO on 3D Meta-Optics for High Energy Lasers. The results of which will provide a class of transformational optical components that can be integrated at all levels throughout advanced Laser systems. UNC Charlotte is the lead institute and Professor Eric Johnson is the lead PI. The other team members include the University of Texas at Arlington, University of Minnesota, and the University of Central Florida – CREOL-TI. The program is three years in length with a 2 year option.
